ABOUT US

Football 1st Soccer Academy was started up in 2009 and works closely with specific club sides to ensure they are fully prepared and competitive for their respective leagues.

The Academy is based on the ‘Pass and Move’ coaching style and aim to coach and improve talented young footballers. The programme has a newly designed coaching programme that improves the first touch, technique and match play of young players. The programme is a combination of developing speed of play, passing, movement and thought. This programme also aims to highlight to young players the importance of awareness and decision making when playing football.

The objective of Football 1st is for us to identify players of advanced ability and potential and to help with their development by giving them the necessary skills and knowledge to allow them to progress as far as possible within the game. Although there is a genuine opportunity for players with the correct attitude and ability to achieve trials at a professional Academy/School of Excellence. It is important to realise that by just attending the Academy does not guarantee this, hard work and effort is needed by the player as well.

All coaches at Football 1st are fully FA Licensed, have FA Enhanced CRB Checks, are fully accredited as Child Welfare Officer's and have Safeguarding Children certificates. They must also have up to date FA Emergency First Aid certificates, obtained online exams for Equality & Diversity and Respect For Coaches, and must continue at all times to progress with their recognised level of coaching. Coaches always carry their FA License with them at all times.

All coaches, staff, and officials within Football 1st work on a voluntary basis, whilst the Football 1st Awards Course and the Football 1st Freestylers Course remain free of charge.

Football 1st have always supplied entire squads to teams such as Kingfisher JFC, Erith & Belvedere, and Dartford FC. But as of the 2014/15 season, Football 1st have affiliated its own independent club side Football First F.C into the London County Saturday Youth Football League.
